Top 5 Disney and Pixar Animated Movies

Disney and Pixar animated movies have been around for a long time. The first Disney animated movie came out in 1937, and the first Pixar movie came out in 1995. Today there are already more than 100 movies and many more coming. All of the Disney and Pixar are great, but there are a few that stand out from the rest. Here is a list of the top 5 Disney and Pixar Animated Movies.

1. Hercules

Hercules is a 1997 film about the son of Zeus who was turned into a half-god half-mortal by Hades. Hercules is incredibly funny and is a fun movie to watch. Every song is catchy and eventful. The history of Greek Gods mixed with a story that is fun it intrigues me because it is such a cool concept.


2. Mulan

Mulan is a 1998 film about a young girl who disguises herself as a guy in order to take her father’s place in the war. The music used in Mulan is the best part of the movie, and it is a funny entertaining movie, that also teaches some history along the way. This movie always cheers me up and makes me feel strong.


3. Finding Nemo

Finding Nemo is a 2003 film about a fish who gets taken by a scuba diver and has to be rescued by his dad and friend. Finding Nemo has always been a fun movie to watch because every character is funny, especially Dory, also it is a movie that hasn’t been seen before, and invites you into the life of fish in the sea. I love interacting with the characters on their voyage across the sea and makes me think the ocean may not be as scary as I thought.


4. Aladdin

Aladdin is a 1992 film about a street rat who frees a genie from a lamp, and wishes to become a king but instead finds true love. Aladdin is one of the most fun movies to watch because of the catchy songs. Also, it is a cute love story with a villain that is easy to hate. Aladdin has me singing along and dancing every time I watch it.


5. Pocahontas

Pocahontas is a 1995 film about an Indian who falls in love with a European settler and the feud between Europeans and her tribe. Pocahontas is a great movie to sing along with, and a fun romantic drama. This movie touches me in the heart and teaches me a little of our history along the way because Pocahontas being based on a real person. 


I love all Disney movies but these five movies are the ones that stuck with me all through my childhood, and that I still enjoy today. Go watch these movies and see the reason why they are the best!
